Wards in Lincolnshire

The Society of Mary was formed in 1931 through a Union of two earlier Anglican Societies both founded to honour the Blessed Virgin Mary.The Society operates through individual wards throughout England.

There are two wards in Lincolnshire.

Skirbeck – Ward of Our Lady of the Marsh

Ward Secretary- Mrs Margaret Ferguson

Based on S. Nicholas’ Church, Skirbeck, Boston, the Ward of our Lady of the Marsh has been in existence for over 60 years. Its members come from a wide area of South-East Lincolnshire and members travel to different churches for special services. Recently the ward has met at Burgh le Marsh, Spilsby and Wainfleet S. Mary as well as at Skirbeck.

The main Marian Feasts are observed and in addition the Ward meets in May (usually with The Grimsby Ward), July for the A.G. M, with speaker, October for the month of the Rosary, and November for the Ward Requiem.
It has about 15 members both priests and laity.
