Groups at St Nicholas' Church
Servers: A team of ten men ensure that Sung Services always have a full team of servers.
Flower Team: A dedicated team ensure the Sanctuary and shrines have flowers. Every 3 years there is a Flower Festival
Social Committee: This group plans & arranges social activites ensuring each month there is always something to do
Society of Mary: St Nicholas is the home church of the South & East Lincolnshire Ward of Our Lady of the Marsh. The Society is a national Anglo-Catholic Devitional Society
Singing Group: Small group of singers, once a month they sing during the administration of Holy Communion and for Carol servcies each year.
St Nicholas' Church, Skirbeck
Welcome to St Nicholas' Church, Skirbeck, Boston. We are a registerd Forward in Faith parish. It is in the Diocese of Lincoln but by passing the necessary resolutions comes under the pastoral and sacramental care of the Bishop of Richborough. Directly responsible to the Archbishop of Canterbury he is one of the special bishops who care for those traditional Church of England parishes who have retained the historic ministry of priests who are male.
Skirbeck Church was established before 1066 and at that time Skirbeck was the main settlement After the Norman Conquest Boston was founded and as a flourishing town eventually engulfed Skirbeck. For over 100 years it has been a definite Anglo-Catholic Church and remains steadfast in that faith today.
