Wards in Lincolnshire
The Society of Mary was formed in 1931 through a Union of two earlier Anglican Societies both founded to honour the Blessed Virgin Mary.The Society operates through individual wards throughout England.

There are two wards in Lincolnshire.
Skirbeck - Ward of Our Lady of the Marsh

Based on S. Nicholas’ Church, Skirbeck, Boston, the Ward of our Lady of the Marsh has been in existence for over 60 years. Its members come from a wide area of South-East Lincolnshire and members travel to different churches for special services. Recently the ward has met at Burgh le Marsh, Spilsby and Wainfleet S. Mary as well as at Skirbeck.
The main Marian Feasts are observed and in addition the Ward meets in May (usually with The Grimsby Ward), July for the A.G. M, with speaker, October for the month of the Rosary, and November for the Ward Requiem.
It has about 15 members both priests and laity.

Based on S. Augustine’s Church, Grimsby the Ward of our Lady of Lincoln was founded in 2002 and members are from North-East Lincolnshire.
The Marian Feasts are kept at S. Augustine’s throughout the year culminating in the Feast of the Assumption when Mass is followed by a Sausage Sizzle & fireworks.
It has about 30 members.
Joint Annual Devotional
Each year the Ward Superiors arrange a joint pilgrimage, usually for a May Devotion, somewhere in the middle of the vast diocese. Recent services have been at Wold Newton, S. Michael’s, Louth, Burgh le Marsh, Croft and Wainfleet S. Mary.
In 2004 the Superior General of the Society, Bishop Robert Ladds, came to Lincoln Cathedral for the joint pilgrimage. During the Pontifical Mass he dedicated a Statue of our Lady for the Missions to Se4amen Chapel at Immingham Docks.

Picnic Lunch
2.30pm.Vespers of our Lady, Sermon, Procession and Benediction. Preacher- the Bishop of Lincoln.
